On October 2-7, Lee Sandlin and Collin Messer travelled to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada for Lee to compete in the 100% Raw Federation World Championships of Powerlifting. The 100% Raw Federation is the only federation that is drug tested and gear free (meaning no suits or shirts that can easily add hundreds of pounds to a lift). This was Lee's comeback competition after recovering from a car accident where he tore his rotator cuff. With previous injuries and not a whole lot of time to regain his full strength, he had the odds stacked against him.

Lee prevailed though. He walked away with with four trophies and four medals. Successfully winning his age group (35-39) and weight class (super heavy 308+) in the bench press, deadlift, strict curl, and push/pull combination. His final lift numbers were 385 in the bench press, 540 in the deadlift, and 165 in the strict curl.

Overall, the trip was definitely a success. Now back to the grinder for next year, there are world records to beat!
